Scene Stealer
of The Week
Should a 7-inch record with just two songs qualify as an album? Is New Wave/post-punk mainstream? Will The Muslims forget us once their fourth member and last San Diego holdout, absconds up the 5? Street dialed up The Muslims — one of three local bands playing this weekend’s Street Scene — and caught the foursome on the road, but because of our instant connection with singer Matt Lamkin, we only talked to him. (OK, Matty was driving and no one’s got a headset, and we guess Brian and Dave were asleep in the air-conditioned van. Fancy rockers!). Meet San Diego band (for now) The Muslims.
